Background
This industrial park will host Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and Component Suppliers. The total size of the site is 1 013 hectares, with 400 hectares dedicated to automotive (Phase 1). The site is located 16 km from Toyota South Africa, 38 km from Durban Harbour and 69 km from King Shaka International Airport.
It is aimed at centralising production, assembly, sequencing and warehousing facilities that are within close proximity to the Original Equipment Manufacturers such as Toyota SA and any new entrants.

- SANRAL commitment for N2 interchange required
- KZN DoT to commit to SANRAL conditions for N2 interchange
- Upgrading of R102, P197, and R106 and Lovu bridge
Commitment from SANRAL and KZN DoT required:
- N3 Corridor (KwaXimba interchange, MR385, etc.)
- Auto Supply Park N2 interchange and provincial roads upgrading
Funding limitations for provision of Bulk Infrastructure:
- Governance structure for accelerating Projects needs reinforcement
- Catalytic Projects Unit to be capacitated with human resources
- Transversal management to be improved
- Red tape related to statutory approvals (Act 70/70, WULA, EIA, TIA, etc) to be addressed.
