Please share your career trajectory to date.
My professional journey is anchored in dedication and purpose. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (SA) with a Big Four firm in Durban, I joined Morar Incorporated in Pietermaritzburg as an associate director in 2010, focusing on the private sector. I progressed to director of the KwaZulu-Natal region and then to director of corporate services in 2017. I earned my CIMA strategic qualification and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS).
In September 2022, I was appointed CEO of Morar Incorporated. With over 16 years at the firm, I have gained a deep understanding of our core strengths and identified areas for future growth.
Who is Morar Incorporated?
Today, Morar Incorporated is a progressive, forward-thinking financial services consulting firm. Having celebrated our 30th anniversary in 2025, we operate as a national powerhouse with a footprint spanning six offices across South Africa. We provide a comprehensive suite of audit, assurance, forensic and corporate advisory services to public entities, the private sector and SMEs.
Crucially, we are the only South African firm accredited as a member of Allinial Global, the world’s largest association of independent accounting and consulting firms. This strategic positioning allows us to seamlessly blend agile, localised client service with cross-border, international reach.
What is your philosophy, mission and vision?
Our philosophy is anchored in four core values: Integrity, Expertise, Solutions and Value. Our mission is to challenge traditional industry norms through aggressive digital transformation, high performance and exceptional client service standards.
Moving forward, our vision is to capitalise on our competitive advantages to drive sustainable growth, foster transformation and build a globally connected financial services landscape. Morar Incorporated is fast, adaptable and fully aligned with the complexities of today’s economy.
Congratulations! In 2025 you were named the AWCA Private Sector CEO of the Year. You were also recognised as one of the seven women of substance making an impact in your respective field as well as being listed among the 50 Most Inspiring Women in the World. How do you feel about winning these awards?
Receiving these accolades, including being named Top CEO of the Year in Financial Solutions (2025) by the International Association of Top Professionals and a top three finalist for CEO of the Year at the Woman of Stature Awards, serves as a strong validation of the turnaround strategy we implemented in 2022.
The recognition from African Women Chartered Accountants Forum of South Africa (AWCA) holds special significance for me because it celebrates the advancement of black, Indian and coloured women in the accounting profession. These awards demonstrate that leading with a bold, authentic and modern vision resonates well beyond our boardroom.
You recently represented Africa as the only African speaker at the global event “In Conversation with Inspirational Women in Accounting and Finance” hosted by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). Please tell us more.
Representing the African continent on the international stage was a significant milestone, built on my experience with the Allinial Global EMEIA Board and as chair of the Africa Steering Committee. The discussion focused on cross-border collaboration, equity and technical innovation. I highlighted the resilience and capabilities of South Africa’s accounting sector, showcasing how we transform economic challenges into sustainable global business opportunities.
Please share some of the insights you have gained on leadership after the accolades you have achieved over the past year.
True leadership is defined by impact, empathy and the courage to drive change. My experience of corporate turnarounds has shown me that leaders must prioritise sustainable wellbeing for themselves and their teams. Authenticity is essential; success doesn’t require fitting into a mould. Ultimately, leadership involves mentorship, and as we enhance the firm’s profile, we must create pathways for the next generation of financial leaders.
