Business leaders, investors, civic stakeholders and strategic partners come together at GTP Annual CEO Gala Dinner

Leadership. Vision. Partnership. The future of Bellville and the Northern Suburbs.

This week, The Greater Tygerberg Partnership (GTP) hosted its Annual CEO Gala Dinner alongside the Executive Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis at Hazendal Wine Estate – bringing together business leaders, investors, civic stakeholders and strategic partners committed to shaping the future of the Northern Suburbs.

More than a gala dinner, the evening created space for important conversations around economic growth, urban renewal, investment-led placemaking and the future role Bellville will continue to play within Cape Town’s broader economic landscape.

The evening opened with a powerful welcome address from GTP CEO Warren Hewitt, who reflected on the growing momentum within Bellville and the importance of collaborative leadership in driving long-term regional impact.

Alderman James Vos Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth spoke passionately about the enormous potential of Bellville and the Northern Suburbs, while Executive Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis delivered a compelling address centred around building a city that works for all through investment, infrastructure, safety and partnerships.

Guests were also inspired by a thought-provoking discussion featuring Robbie Brozin, co-founder of Nando’s, joined by Bea Swanepoel, CEO of Jozi My Jozi, exploring leadership, civic pride and the power of cities built through community and collaboration.

The evening further included a special message from Keith Anderson, Founder and CEO of eWASA (EPR Waste Association of South Africa), who spoke on the critical importance of waste management, sustainability and collaborative environmental responsibility in shaping more resilient and future-focused cities.

The evening also marked the introduction of Northern Collective — a female-led regional initiative spearheaded by GTP COO Nasmera Buckus (MBA), bringing together influential female leaders from key corporates and organisations across the Northern Suburbs.

Two major precinct-focused projects were also officially launched: the Lighting Up Elizabeth Park and the Bellville Skyline Project, which saw a number of corporates agreeing to fund the projects on the evening itself.

A sincere thank you to our headline sponsor, eWASA (EPR Waste Association of South Africa), together with all sponsors and partners who helped make the evening possible:

  • City of Cape Town
  • Old Mutual
  • HeadByte
  • Metropolitan
  • WCB Group
  • TUHF
  • Tsebo Solutions Group

Real change happens when leadership, business and community move in the same direction.

At GTP, the work doesn’t stop when the event ends. From boardrooms to public spaces, from strategic partnerships to on-the-ground implementation, we remain committed to making places better and building a stronger future for Bellville and the Northern Suburbs.

If you’d like to partner or collaborate, we’d love to connect.
