The Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) realises the investment promotion potential value of promoting the Eastern Cape as a destination for hosting national & international film & television productions. The breath-taking film & television locations of the province makes it a film & television destination of choice.
The funding is only available to productions that will be shooting their projects in the Eastern Cape.

Production Funding:
- Feature Films
- Drama/TV Series
- Reality Shows
- Telenovela’s
- Documentaries
- Animations
The applicant is required to download and read the Eastern Cape Film Investment Fund (ECFIF) Guidelines before completing the application form.
Application process
ECDC will open a funding call that will be advertised in all ECDC social media platforms and on the ECDC website. Only successful applicants will receive formal communication from ECDC through approval letters. Should you fail to hear from ECDC within six (6) weeks after the closing date of the funding call, consider your application unsuccessful.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to submit correct and complete application forms with all the required supporting documentation. Failing to do so will result in automatic disqualification. Applicants are allowed to apply in one category per funding call. Applications in more than one (1) of the categories will result in automatic disqualification.
All applications will be subjected to a commercial viability assessment, due diligence, document verification process and budget availability. No late applications and incomplete applications will be considered.
