South Africa will host the 2nd Annual Transnational Organised Crime Prevention Conference on 20 – 21 October 2026, bringing together senior government officials, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, border security experts, financial crime specialists, researchers and international partners to address one of the continent’s most pressing security and economic challenges.
Under the theme, “Securing Borders Across Land, Air, Sea and Cyber by Intensifying Multilateral & Hi-Tech Cooperation,” the conference will focus on disrupting the top three tiers of the illicit value chain by strengthening intelligence-led collaboration, border security, technology-driven interventions and coordinated enforcement strategies.
The conference comes at a critical time. Across Africa, an estimated US$90-billion—equivalent to approximately 3.7% of the continent’s GDP—is lost annually through illicit financial flows.
Amid these challenges, South Africa’s SAPS Reset Agenda provides renewed momentum through its implementation of the National Organised Crime Strategy, a multi-year reform initiative designed to deliver a more coordinated, intelligence-driven response to organised criminal syndicates operating across provincial and international borders.
Hosted by Pinpoint Stewards, the conference will feature expert presentations and discussions from leading national and international organisations, including Pan African Resources, the High Court of South Africa, Australian Federal Police, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (Department of Homeland Security), National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Border Management Authority (BMA), Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI/Hawks), South African Banking Risk Information Centre (SABRIC), and Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC).

A high-level panel discussion will examine collaborative approaches to securing borders, targeting criminal enablers and protecting critical infrastructure, while a specialised forensic workshop will provide delegates with practical guidance on intelligence management, evidence handling and investigative best practice.
The conference aims to foster stronger partnerships between government, law enforcement, the private sector and international stakeholders to enhance regional security, protect economies and communities, and build a united response to transnational organised crime.
