The AU Agenda 2063 highlights flagship projects and its current strategic plan includes key transport focus interventions:
- Implementation of the African Maritime Transport Charter;
- Finalisation of the framework and launching of the High-Speed Train Project and strengthening of regional railway training institutions;
- Development of Transport Corridors;
- Implementation of the African Road Safety Charter, the African Action Plan for the Global Road Safety Decade 2011-2020, the Intergovernmental Agreement on Trans-African Highway Norms and Standards; and development of TAH Maintenance Management Policy;
With the focus on the development of Transport Corridors and in keeping with the plan to implement the African Free Trade Agreement goals, Transport Evolution Africa is be the annual meeting place for these strategic plans to be discussed and mapped out. Topics such as financing of transport infrastructure requirements, frameworks, border controls, corridor development, digitization to drive efficient transport networks.
Port, rail and road expansion plans across Africa will be presented.
