Following the GIC conference, the MEC engaged with stakeholders in the Sedibeng Municipal District on the Vaal Special Economic Zone project.

The Gauteng MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture and Rural Development, Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, was joined by the Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Zuko Godlimpi for a public engagement on the proposed Vaal Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on the 15th April 2026 at the Vereeniging City Hall.

The session was part of broader efforts to stimulate economic activity and advance industrialisation in the Vaal, while offering an opportunity for community members, businesses and key stakeholders to engage meaningfully on a development that will influence the region’s long-term growth.
