Motswedi Resources investment raising drive

By presenting a well-structured investment proposal, backed by thorough analysis and a compelling investment case, Motswedi Resources aims to attract potential investors and secure the necessary funding to develop mining projects in the platinum belt.

Background

Motswedi Resources is a mining and construction company founded in 2004. The enterprise started out in the construction sector, but has since diversified into the mining sector. The company ventured into the mining and quarry in 2016.

It has secured permission through a Tribal Resolution to do sand, quartz and dolerite mining in the area of Magogong in the North West Province, on the border of the Northern Cape Province, in South Africa. However, operations have not yet begun, due to the need to invest in environmental compliance. Since 2021, Motswedi has comprehensively assessed mining opportunities in the platinum belt of the North West province and Limpopo Province and has secured partnerships in green fields and brown fields with farms that have been prospected and proven to be rich in mineral deposits.

Overview

Motswedi is currently in an investment raising drive that is planned to be used in phases in order to acquire the farms outright, enter into joint ventures with mineral rights owners and as being a preferred off-taker for medium and small scale mining companies within the area of Chrome and Platinum Group Metals. The investment will be mainly used for developeing new junior mines, expanding existing junior mines and purchasing the minerals from operating junior miners.

We are also currently negotiating partnerships with four tribal authorities within the platinum belt to partner in the development of mines and mining assets within their areas.

Motswedi has more than 12 assessed and verified opportunities in North West Province and Limpopo Province platinum belt. These opportunities are categorized as follows:

  • Greenfield
  • Brownfield
  • Purchase of chrome mine
  • Mine dumps
  • Purchase of material

Motswedi Resources have engaged with Traditional Leaders (Dikgosi), community leaders and various prominent families and ordinary members of the communities in the areas where opportunities have been identified.
