Staycold International invests in new manufacturing equipment

This will increase Staycold’s manufacturing ability of self-contained commercial fridges and freezers, primarily for the beverage and hospitality industries.

Staycold International have invested in state of the art equipment for their factory in Parys, Free State. This includes a coil to laser machine, first of its kind in Africa as well as a new injection foaming machine, received and commissioned during the first half of 2023.

This will increase Staycold’s manufacturing ability of self-contained commercial fridges and freezers, primarily for the beverage and hospitality industries.

The injection foaming machine was purchased from the world renowned Cannon company in Italy. It is Staycold’s second foaming machine and purchased to assist with the foaming division’s capacity and flexibility to insulate the cabinets. All Staycold products are manufactured with environmentally friendly Ecomate insulation, as proper insulation plays a fundamental roll in overall system energy efficiency.

A new coil to laser cutting machine was purchased from Laser ISSE in Turkey during March 2023 and arrived in early July. Laser ISSE’s engineering team spent two weeks setting up and commissioning this laser cutter at Staycold’s manufacturing facility. This machine cuts material directly from the coil helping with optimization and decreasing wastage. The laser machine in combination with newly acquired laser welding machine further improves sheet metal quality.

Lena le Roux, MD of Staycold International was instrumental in ensuring the new equipment became a reality and commented: “We don’t only need quality materials to manufacture quality products, but also leading-edge machinery that can contribute to our productivity, efficiencies and flexibility. This to upheld our promise of supplying durable, quality products.”
