Cisco, WomHub, the Department of Communications & Digital Technologies (DCDT) and the ELIDZ, have officially launched the expanded Cisco EDGE Centre at the ELIDZ Science and Technology Park (STP) — now proudly the third WomHub-powered site in South Africa.
“For the third time, we are coming together with a shared vision. The addition of WomHub at the ELIDZ site strengthens our growing ecosystem to support female founders with the tools, resources, and networks they need to thrive. Collaboration such as this helps us unlock more opportunities for women-led innovation especially in underserved areas,” said Smangele Nkosi, GM, Cisco South Africa.
As part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) and Networking Academy programmes, the enhanced centre will:
-
- Support SMMEs, with a focus on women-led businesses
- Offer certifications in cybersecurity and AI
- Build pathways to economic participation
Speaking on behalf of ELIDZ, Acting Chief Operations Officer Ricardo de Beer stated:
“Through our STP, we are committed to mainstreaming innovation by enabling collaborative initiatives that support economic growth and digital transformation. Our goal is to develop, transform, and nurture small and medium enterprises to ensure their sustainability and success.”
The EDGE Centres are a key part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program in South Africa Since 2019.
