Ruwana Diamond Cutting and Polishing Works (Pty) Ltd was incorporated in 2017 and is based in Kimberley, Northern Cape Province, South Africa.
The company seeks to develop and acquire commercial interest in the diamond beneficiation sector. The formation of the company was inspired by the government strategy to promote value-added local beneficiation of South Africa’s minerals and furthermore seeks to play a vital role to support the process of private sector development amongst the historically disadvantaged South Africans.
A previously disadvantaged South African is gainfully employed by the organization, and he will be involved in the management of the organization. The member is Mr. Kagisho Ruwana and owns 100% shares in the company.
Mr. Kagisho Ruwana has vast diamond industry experience that spans over 20 years and has worked at various levels of responsibilities ranging from diamond sorting, through to Diamond Inspection, Recovery Operator and Operations Manager. Apart from his industry-wide experience, Kagisho has extensive educational qualifications from the relevant fields of Public Management, Information Technology, Research and Information Management, Export Risk Management, Customer Service Management, Venture Start-up Principles and Management, Diamond Manufacturing and Rough Diamond Evaluation.
Kagisho is currently studying towards completing his Graduate Gemology diploma through the GIA (Gemological Institute of America).
