The proposed project is for the establishment of a dairy cattle farm with increase-per-cow milk production through state of the art farm management facilities, efficient and effective utilization of dairy production and deployment of technologically advanced infrastructure.
The project requires a unique mix of technology and herd composition that will make it possible for the investor to achieve economies of scales and attain a high rate of return on the investment (ROI).
The project will have a room meant for veterinary drugs (mini dispensary) and other farm supplies. Business dealing in dairy farm supplies (concentrated feeds, salt and minerals, seeds for forage, fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, biological, etc.) and timely farm services – breeding, pregnancy checking, animal health, milk quality testing – to be established at the plant, providing farmers with easy access to these products and services.
There is a very high demand for all these services and inputs.
The business aims to produce pasteurized fluid milk, yoghurt and ice cream. The establishment of the dairy farm will increase milk production per cow, through state-of-the-art farm management facilities, efficient and effective utilization of dairy production and development of technologically advanced infrastructure. The dairy cows will be kept primarily for milk production in the conventional housing system.
The project will involve housing, breeding, feeding, watering, disease control and hygienic production of value added dairy products as indicated.
The initial milk production will start at a minimum of 2 000 – 6 000 litres per day. The projected peak production of 60 000 litres per day will be realized through the establishment of satellite farmers at district level. Target market will be high-end supermarkets, mini-markets, convenient stores and the hospitality service providers.
